THE MONKS AND NOVICES' EXAMINATION

The final examination of the first semester in 2011 at Veluvona Rusaysrok’s temple. According to Education system of Buddhist monks in Campucheakrom (South of Vietnam), after the end of The Khmer New Year, some Monks and Novices are going to prepare to leave own their temple to be at another temple for their school. And some others, stay at own their temple if they have class themselves.
        The schools for Buddhist monks and novices always start on the middle of May every year. For Khmer people in Campucheakrom, they did not have any publish school on the outside of temples. So, they are very difficult for themselves if someone want to study Khmer language. Some of children had to study Khmer from their parents and some others went to study at the temple which another place nearly by their home. Their teachers are the monks and lay men who ever been monk and after left monk, they spend some time to teach pupils, monks and novices at each temple. All of teachers always teach for free, they never get any money from other one. Because of Government never give salary for them. But, they did not need it also. Most of Khmer teachers believed that their teachings are house-whole. Otherwise, they try to get for themselves.
      The subjects that the monks and novices study at class as only contacted in Buddhism, do not general subjects. Nowadays, some of monks attend to the other publish school for continue their education in Secondary or High School and some others study at University.
      In addition to Veluvona Rusaysrok’s temple, had to receive eighteen monks and novices from other temples to stay for school in this year, there are six classes in temple. Frimary School have five Grade, from Grade once to Grade fifth for pupils and a class for monks and novices, it is Grade sixth in Pali and Khmer. All of five classes, there were a hundred thirty six pupils. Monks and novices in Grade sixth had nineteen, adding a student’s girl. Their final examination of semester finished on October 12th, 2011. After this final exam, the Head Monk and all Buddhists celebrated a ceremony at the night time on that day for offering award to monks, novices and all pupils.
